-Claret with Grey leather interior and Dark Grey carpeting, FCAPlatinum Award Winning Restoration, Documented by Ferrari HistorianMarcel Massini, Rare 1 of 63 "Low Roof" 250 GT Boanos manufactured,Ferrari Classiche Certified, Matching Numbers, 2,953 CC SOHC AlloyV-12 Engine with Three Weber Carburetors producing 260 BHP at 7,000RPM, 4-Speed Manual Gearbox, Equipped with rare and desirableside-fender vents, The Second-To-Last Boano Built, SouthernCalifornia example for over 40 years. Completed by the factory, this 250GT Boano was delivered new to thefamous Belgian Ferrari importer, Jacques Swaters' GarageFrancorchamps SA, Brussels, Belgium, May 18, 1957. It was sold toits first registered owner, Mr. Lefranc, Belgium. During the early1960's, the 250 GT was exported from Belgium to the United Stateshaving been sold to Mr. John Calley, a movie producer in LosAngeles, California. Early California history saw this Boano being sold in 1965 from Mr.John Calley to Mr. Larry Armi, Pasadena, California. In 1966 and inneed of a clutch replacement, it changes hands from Mr. Larry Armito Mr. Gene Curtis, Manhattan Beach, California. Mr. Curtis ownedthe 250 GT Boano through 1987. In 1988, it was sold by Curtis' widow to Mr. Robert Butler,Valencia, California. At this time, the engine was out of the carand the 250 GT was in need of a major restoration. 1993 saw theBoano being sold by Mr. Butler to his friend, Mr. Rick Peterson aspartial payment towards a previous loan to Butler. September 1995 saw this Boano being advertised in the FerrariMarket Letter by well-known and respected Southern California basedFerrari specialist, Mr. Norbert Hofer on behalf of Mr. RickPetersen. October 2001, now in restored condition and still in Mr.Petersen's ownership, the Boano found itself being marketed byEuropean Auto Restorations and subsequently being sold to Mr. RickIntile, New York, NY. Mr. Intile, a good friend of AutosportDesigns remembers the Boano fondly, having enjoyed it thoroughlyand until selling on June 2006. Further collector ownerships haveincluded, 2006, Mr. Tony Schwartz, Los Angeles, a well-knowncollector-dealer. 2007 it was owned by Mr. Michael Schudroff,Carriage House Motorcars, Greenwich, Connecticut and sold to Mr.David Berkeley. Mr. Berkeley entered the 250 GT Boano in the June,2008, Greenwich Concours d'Elegance. Late 2009, the Boano was nowin the ownership of Mr. Dennis Roberts, New Hampshire. Mr. Robertskept the 250 GT through 2011 when it was purchased by Mr. StuCarpenter, Copley Motorcars, Needham, Massachusetts and on behalfof well-known collector, Mr. Leslie H. Wexner, Ohio. Kept in theWexner collection through September 2012 and when resold throughCopley Motorcars once again to its most recent custodian, awell-known and respected California collector. While in its most recent ownership, this rare, numbers matching,"Low Roof" Boano has enjoyed fastidious care, maintenance as wellas continued sympathetic restoration, when and where needed by thegentleman who has known this 250 GT extremely well for severaldecades, Ferrari specialist Norbert Hofer.
